Zach Parise returns to Minnesota Wild lineup after 14 game absence

Minnesota Wild left winger Zach Parise has been out for the past 14 games since breaking his left foot, but after Thursday’s pregame skate, the Wild said Parise will be active for tonight’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Parise has been out since. Dec. 22 after initially hurting the foot while blocking a shot on Nov. 25 but played through the injury for the better part of the next month. However, he struggled offensively only collecting five points over the next 12 games before being shut down to let the foot heal.

The Wild went 9-9 without Parise in the lineup, but did endure a six-game losing streak after winning the first two games in a shootout without Parise who signed a big free-agent deal two offseasons ago.

He has 15 goals and 12 assists in 37 games this season for the Wild who find themselves in the eight spot in the Western Conference if the playoffs started today with 59 points.

You can watch Parise and the Wild take on the Blackhawks who have the second most points in the NHL tonight at 7:00 p.m. CT
