The New York Knicks have been a so-so basketball team this year and their struggles have led to one very strange thing happening — people are starting to feel bad for Carmelo Anthony. Anthony isn’t sulking on Friday night against the Bobcats though as he’s continuing his push to earn a giant free agent contract this summer with a game that has him chasing 60 points.
Three of those points Melo has came at the buzzer of halftime. Melo rebounded a missed shot with just seconds left and heaved the ball up from halfcourt, as most players do at the buzzer. While mostly everyone does what Melo did in heaving the ball up, very few have the ball go in.
Melo had the ball go in. Not only that, he hit nothing but net and managed to pump his teammates up at the right time.
