The NBA rolls into the second-to-last week before the All-Star break with a varied schedule that fantasy hoops owners need to pay attention to in order to get the right lineup constructed for the 14th week of the season which starts January 24 and runs through February 2. This week there are five teams with the dreaded two-game week.
The defending champion Heat are among the teams with a bit of a break this week and are joined by the Mavs, Nuggets, Lakers, and Blazers. The two-game week may help the team get healthy and be good for them long-term, but it’s killer on their fantasy production. On the flip side, the Hawks, Clippers, Grizz, Bucks, Timberwolves, Thunder, Magic, Sixers, Kings, and Raptors all have four games.
While you still want to start your stars regardless of the number of games they play, it’s good to remember who plays more if you are adding a piece from the waiver wire. For example, Mario Chalmers will only get half the games of Greivis Vasquez, so Vasquez will probably put up bigger totals this week.
