The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim could use another pitcher or two before Spring Training arrives, which is why interest in free agent arm Bronson Arroyo isn’t exactly outlandish.
Arroyo was deemed to be one of the most coveted available pitchers when free agency broke, however demands for a lofty three-year contract pushed teams away.
Now the 37-year-old has been forced to drop down his asking price which has the Angels intrigued.
angels said to have a bit of interest in bronson arroyo but angels peeps say theyd be ok going to spring w/current group
In short, the Angels wouldn’t mind signing Arroyo but they’re not going to do it at his asking price.
If Arroyo is to come down in his demands, he’d certainly have no problem finding a potential suitor but teams simply aren’t going to invest hefty money into a player who’ll be over 40-years-old when his contract expires. Granted, Arroyo has been extremely durable during his career but you have to wonder how long that will last, especially as he continues to age.
