Not even legendary NFL quarterbacks are immune to financial scams, folks.

Former signal caller Warren Moon is the most recent victim of what appears to be a stealthy ring attempting to scam current and/or former professional athletes.

Moon, a big basketball fan, had hoped to take in a Miami Heat game and had his agent wire over $200,000 dollars for four tickets. Only problem? The tickets never came and the company he paid no longer exists.

Moon’s agent wired $200,00 for the tickets to an account at Academy bank in Pasadena but never got the tickets.  Moon’s company, Sports 1 Marketing is now suing George French Jones to get his money back, but Jones has disappeared.   Investigators are trying to find out whether Jones is still contacting professional athletes,  trying to scam money.

In addition to Moon, an unnamed member of a New England Patriots team that won the Super Bowl in addition to an 8-time NFL Pro-Bowl player were also targets.

Something should have been fishy when seats were $50K a pop – even for the Heat.
