The New York Jets will be entering the offseason looking to let a few players go in order to provide salary cap relief, but kicker Nick Folk is hoping that he will be able to stay with the team for the long term.

I’d love to stay in New York,” Folk told Metro New York. “They’re still finalizing the coaching staff from what I heard.”

Folk said that he believes the team would like to have him back, but he will have to wait and see how it all plays out.

“That’s what I got from it. It was a good meeting, I conveyed that I’d like to be back,” Folk said. “[We will] see what happens over the next couple months. Of course I’d love it, and I’d think that they’d like a reliable guy at that position for awhile. It is up to them to see what they want to go, what they want to do with things.”

Whether or not Folk gets his wish remains to be seen, but the Jets certainly have to be interested in bringing a man that has had such success in their stadium’s cold weather and windy conditions back.
