On Friday morning, new Penn State Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin announced the full list of coaches that will be on his staff this season as he begins his new journey.

Franklin was officially announced as the new head coach of the Nittany Lions earlier this month after Bill O’Brien accepted the head coaching position with the Houston Texans.

The coach’s inaugural staff in Happy Valley looks much like it did during his time with the Vanderbilt Commodores as seven of the nine assistant coaches have spent time down in Nashville with Franklin.

But, with these coaches that he’s bringing along with him to Penn State, he’s also bringing along the experience of coaching up a program that was at the bottom of the SEC for so long. After being the doormats for so many years, Franklin and this crew had the Vanderbilt program winning nine games two years in a row–and winning bowl games.

Aside from the coaching staff announcement, Franklin also spoke to the media Friday morning about a number of other topics, including the ever-crucial issue about whether or not the names will be taken off the back of the jerseys, to which he didn’t give a definitive answer except to say that they will uphold the traditions of Penn State Football.
