It’s moving day at the Farmers Insurance Open, and there are 19 golfers within five strokes of the lead.

The final two rounds will be played on Torrey Pines South, host of the 2008 U.S. Open.  The South is a difficult test with high rough, firm greens, and a beastly 7,600 yards (give or take a few).  A good round goes a long way.

Jordan Spieth leads at 10-under, and may put the tournament out of reach with a score in the mid-60s.  Jamie Lovemark, a Torrey Pines High alum, is five back of Spieth, and may jump into contention with a round in the 60s.

Tiger may jump into contention with a great round as well.  In 1999, Tiger teed off the 10th hole, and shot 62-65 to win the tournament.

Players to watch: Twenty-year-old Jordan Spieth is looking for his second PGA Tour win, and countless comparisons to Tiger Woods.  Kevin Tway is at five-under (T11), and looking for his first top-10 on the PGA Tour.  Canadian Brad Fritsch secured his only top-10 at the Farmers last year, and is in the hunt at five-under.  Rising stars Billy Horschel and Gary Woodland are looking for their second and third wins, respectively.

Don’t forget about the veterans: Stewart Cink is one stroke back of Spieth, and wants to prove he can still win on the PGA Tour.  Nicolas Colsaerts wants to prove his game translates to the PGA Tour after 10 years on the Euro Tour.  Journeyman Pat Perez grew up playing Torrey Pines, and knows the course better than anyone.

Great story to follow: J.B. Holmes is making his first PGA Tour start since breaking his ankle in March 2013.  The two-time winner also missed time in 2011 due to brain surgery.  Holmes is in contention at five-under, and has the length to play well on the South.
