Florida State Seminoles‘ quarterback Jameis Winston is a busy guy.
Friday was the first day of Florida State baseball practice and manager Mike Martin revealed that he expects Winston to be his closer.
After practice, what could be a tougher job for Winston was set to begin.
Josh Newberg of 24/7 Sports has the scoop.
Winston is also being looked at in another “closer” role this weekend. This time Florida State football head coach Jimbo Fisher is bringing Winston in to “close” on five-star wide receiver Malachi Dupre of New Orleans (La.) John Curtis. Winston will be Dupre’s personal host this weekend while he’s in Tallahassee on his official visit.
The 6’2.5, 187-pound Dupre, who is believed to an LSU lock, is viewed as a five-star prospect and the #2 wide receiver in the country, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Three Florida State commitments, four-star defensive tackle DeMarcus Christmas, four-star linebacker Jacob Pugh and three-star defensive lineman Blake McClain, along with a pair of five-star defensive ends, Lorenzo Carter and Miami Hurricanes‘ commitment Chad Thomas, are also officially visiting Tallahassee this weekend.
