The Sacramento Kings went toe-to-toe with the Indiana Pacers on Friday night and nearly came away with a victory if not for a clutch four-point play from Paul George in the final moments.
A phantom foul put George on the line where the MVP canidate sent the game into overtime before the Pacers eventually pulled away from the Kings who were without two of their best players in Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins.
Both Gay and Cousins injured themselves in Wensday’s loss to the Houston Rockets and left the arena in walking boots. Gay was determined to have an Achilles injury while Cousins suffered a severe (but non-broken) sprain of his ankle.
Thankfully for the Kings, Gay looks to be nearing a return – possibly as soon as Sunday against the Denver Nuggets. Cousins on the other hand is still dealing with swelling and remains doubtful for this weekend’s contest.
Kings coach Michael Malone says Rudy Gay is ahead of DeMarcus Cousins coming back from injury. Possible Rudy will play tomorrow
It is not known when Cousins will return to the court.
