Today, the UFC announced an exciting Welterweight matchup for UFC 172. Former StrikeForce Welterweight champion, Tarec Saffiedine, will take on the heavy handed Jake Ellenberger. This bout was originally scheduled to headline UFC’s first Singapore show at UFC Fight Night 34. Unfortunately, Ellenberger suffered an injury in training and was forced to withdraw from the bout. Hyun Gyu Lim replaced Ellenberger in the main event, and him and Saffiedine put on a tremendous fight.
In the end, Saffiedine came out with the unanimous decision, and will now get his shot at Ellenberger at UFC 172. UFC News announced the matchup on Twitter earlier today:

UFC 172 will take place in Baltimore, Maryland on April 26th. In the main event of the evening, Jon Jones will attempt to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight title for a 6th time. He takes on Brazilian prospect, Glover Teixeira, in a battle that is sure to bring fireworks.
Currently Jones vs Teixeira and Saffiedine vs Ellenberger are the only two fights the UFC have announced. Expect numerous fight announcements over the next week as tickets go on sale February 5th.
