Broncos K Matt Prater is ‘feeling better’
By Josh Sanchez
Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater has been out of practice this week because of an illness that forced the team to keep him at home. Prater was never expected to miss the game, and Broncos head coach John Fox confirmed that news once again on Sunday.
During his opening Super Bowl week press conference, Fox said that Prater “feels much better” as he continues to recover from the illness.
“He’ll be fine come next Sunday,” Fox said.
Fox added that Prater was simply dealing with a “virus.”
Throughout the regular season and playoffs, Prater has been able to connect on an impressive 30-of-32 field goals, including an NFL record 64-yard field goal on December 8 in a win over the Tennessee Titans.
Prater is a big weapon for the Broncos, so having him healthy enough to play on Super Bowl Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks will be key.
