The Cleveland Browns went through multiple quarterbacks this season and the one that gave them arguably the most success was Brian Hoyer. New head coach Mike Pettine is a fan of Hoyer as well.
“I think he’s a winner,” said Pettine, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I think the intangibles with Brian are off the charts. I think he’s a football junky and I think you can tell he loves the game. He came from a system where he learned from the best in the game and that showed on the field. A lot of people, based on his background, kind of fall asleep on him a little bit. I think he’s a winning quarterback in this league.”
That would suggest that Pettine would like to keep Hoyer around, and Adam Caplan is reporting that you can expect the Browns to pay him his $250,000 roster bonus in March.
Look for the #Browns to pay Brian Hoyer’s $250 K roster bonus, which is due on March 15.
