Carlos Zambrano involved in Winter League fight (Video)

There are two reasons Carlos Zambrano is no longer playing in the Major Leagues. One of them is a decline in skills. The other? His volitle personality.

It’s one thing to employ a player who struggles with his emotions when he’s posting 18 wins a season alongside a 3.25 ERA. It’s another to employ them when they have a 5.25 ERA.

Zambrano found that out a few years ago, but the veteran arm has been attempting to make a comeback despite his iffy play. That comeback may have been cut short after Zambrano’s anger got the best of him during a recent Winter League game.

Navegantes del Magallanes and Caribes de Anzoátegui were playing in the top of the sixth with Navegantes nursing a 6-1 lead. Then things got a little out of hand after a Caribes player was hit with a pitch. It didn’t look like much was going to manifest thankfully, but then Zambrano came storming into the camera view attempting to decapitate anybody within range.

That’s not a good look if you’re trying to get an MLB job, Mr. Zambrano.
