Last night, at UFC on FOX 10, Donald Cerrone knocked out Adriano Martins in devastating fashion with a highlight reel head kick. The thunderous KO garnered Cerrone yet another post-fight bonus check; his 13th in 22 Zuffa bouts. This is his second post fight bonus in respective bouts. In November, at UFC 167, Cerrone won the ‘submission of the night’ bonus with a beautiful triangle choke victory over Evan Dunham. With the ‘knockout of the night’ bonus last night, Cerrone surpassed Anderson Silva and Joe Lauzon for the most Zuffa bonuses in the company’s history.
The UFC tweeted the news earlier today:

Both Anderson Silva and Joe Lauzon have 12 bonuses a piece in their time under the Zuffa banner. Cerrone has 3 KO of the nights, 2 submission of the nights, and 8 fight of the nights in his historic career. He also had the fight of the year in 2009 against Benson Henderson in the WEC. It is safe to say that Cerrone is the king of post fight bonuses.
Cerrone, who is currently ranked at #8 in the Lightweight rankings, will likely get a top 5 opponent his next time out. A couple more statement wins from Cerrone and he could find himself in the midst of title contention.
