The Dallas Cowboys are apparently very serious about looking at replacing offensive coordinator Bill Callahan with recently fired Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. While there hasn’t been a ton of movement on that front this weekend, that hasn’t stopped the Cleveland Browns from becoming interested in the idea of hiring Callahan to run their offense in 2014.
Word is that if Scott Linehan lands in Dallas, Browns could make a run at Bill Callahan to be Mike Pettine’s offensive coordinator.

Callahan would first have to be fired by the Cowboys in order for any of this to happen, but it’s starting to look like Linehan could be on his way to replacing Callahan as the play caller in Dallas.
Given how slow the Browns were in their initial head coaching search, it shouldn’t come as that big of a surprise that they’re discussing Callahan. They’ve already discussed Gary Kubiak which fits the trend in Cleveland of talking about candidates without actually hiring them.
Still, the Browns will need to move quickly to fill out Mike Pettine’s staff, and that may mean that Callahan might not be out of work long if the Cowboys give him the boot.
