The Olympics are just around the corner, and NHL foes are becoming national teammates as they prepare to pursue a gold medal. That includes Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby and Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn. Crosby is the captain of the Canadian Olympic team and said that Benn has impressed him.
“I think his play, especially the last couple of years, has earned him the right to be on the team,” Crosby said, via the Dallas Morning News. “I think he’s just gotten better every year. He’s a big guy. He’s got speed, a lot of offensive talent. Yeah, he’s done everything to make himself ready for that team.”
This season Benn has 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points through 52 games. He is second on the Stars in Points and goals, and tied for first in assists. His point total is the 23rd best mark in the league.
