After having to deal with a delay because of glare on the ice, the Rangers and Devils got underway at Yankee Stadium. It was the first hockey game played at Yankee Stadium, and it most certainly did not disappoint.

The New York Rangers, led by goalie Henrik Lundqvist, were able to top the New Jersey Devils, by a score of 7-3. The first period saw five goals scored, two of which were from Patrik Elias of the Devils. New Jersey took an early lead of 3-2, until the second period, where the rest of the game was controlled by the Rangers.

It was so rough for Devils goalie Martin Brodeur, that he was yanked from the game, and replaced by backup Cory Schneider.

Rick Nash scored in his fifth straight game, which brings his season total to 18.

Next up for the blue an white will be their New York rivals, the Islanders, which will take place on Wednesday. The Devils’ next game will on Tuesday as they travel to take on the St. Louis Blues.
