As the Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to expand in the Asian markets, the promotion made a big move by adding two of the biggest mixed martial arts stars in China. According to some Chinese media outlets, the UFC has signed Li Jingliang and Jumabieke Tuerxun.
Jumabieke, also known as simply “Bieke,” had previously signed a deal with the UFC early last year. However, his contract with Legend FC kept him from joining the big show, but now that the promotion has folded operations he is free to join with the top promotions in the world and bring his undefeated record to the UFC.
At 14-0, Bieke is the top bantamweight in China and he will look to make a splash when he makes his promotional debut, which will reportedly be at the TUF; China Finale.
Li (8-2) is expected to debut around May of this year.
He is a former Legend FC welterweight champion and he will have the opportunity to put together some impressive wins in the octagon and find his way into the title picture in what is now a wide open division.
Li is a well-rounded fighter, but he is best known for being one of the grapplers in the China MMA scene, which is why he was nicknamed “The Leech.”
