Three-star wide receiver Charles Nelson committed to the Oregon Ducks on Monday evening.
The 5’8.5, 170-pound speedster attends Seabreeze High School (the school that gave the Florida State Seminoles and college football five-star quarterback bust Xavier Lee) in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Brian Linder of The Daytona Beach News Journal has the story.
Seabreeze’s Charles Nelson said Monday he’s committed to the Oregon Ducks.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound senior picked Oregon over Southern Cal, Notre Dame and West Virginia.
Nelson is being recruited as an athlete but played wide receiver and defensive back for the Sandcrabs.
He caught 35 passes for 509 yards and seven touchdowns and recorded 57 tackles and four interceptions on defense.
Nelson went on his official visit to Oregon last week.
Nelson didn’t appear to have a whole lot of interest from the in-state schools and he didn’t seem particularly interested in staying close to home. Nelson chose the Ducks over the Southern Cal Trojans, Boston College Eagles, Cincinnati Bearcats and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, among others.
