4-star RB Derrell Scott commits to Tennessee

Four-star running back Derrell Scott made his college decision Monday afternoon.

Scott committed to the Tennessee Volunteers.

Ryan Callahan of 24/7 Sports has the scoop.

Tennessee added another highly ranked prospect to its impressive 2014 recruiting class Monday.

Top247 senior all-purpose back Derrell Scott of Havelock (N.C.) High School announced Monday afternoon that he has committed to the Vols, choosing Tennessee over South Carolina and Florida during a ceremony at his school.

Scott is considered a four-star prospect and the third best all-purpose running back in the country, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Scott, who attends Havelock High School in Havelock, North Carolina, is 5’11 and 180 lbs. and reportedly runs a 4.55 40-yard dash.

He is considered the 126th best overall prospect and third best player in Tennessee.

At times, Scott was considered a heavy lean to the South Carolina Gamecocks, so this is a big commitment for head coach Butch Jones and his staff. Scott also considered the Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida Gators and North Carolina State Wolfpack.
