Kentucky Wildcats promote Vince Marrow

The University of Kentucky revealed over the weekend the tight ends coach Vince Marrow has been given a $100,000 raise and promoted to the job of recruiting coordinator.

Marrow’s new annual salary is $275,000. Also, his contract with the Wildcats was extended through June 30, 2016.

In conjunction with their announcement of Marrow’s promotion, The Courier-Journal published the salaries of the Kentucky football staff. If you need some motivation for a career change, check ‘em out:

Head coach — Mark Stoops: $2.2 million (average)


Offensive coordinator — Neal Brown: $550,000


Defensive coordinator — D.J. Eliot: $500,000


Safeties/special teams — Bradley Dale Peveto: $300,000


Tight ends/recruiting coordinator — Vince Marrow: $275,000


Wide receivers — Tommy Mainord: $250,000


Offemsive line — John Schlarman: $200,000


Running backs — Chad Scott: $200,000


Cornerbacks — Derrick Ansley: $200,000


Defensive line — Jimmy Brumbaugh: $175,000


Total: $4,850,000 (guaranteed pay, before bonuses)


Nine assistants: $2,650,000

A native of Ohio, Marrow has proved invaluable in helping the Wildcats land recruits from the Buckeye State. Kentucky’s 2014 recruiting class currently boasts 11 players from the adjacent state.
