Matt Elam to decide between Alabama, Kentucky Thursday

One of the country’s top defensive tackle prospects in the class of 2014 will announce his college decision on Thursday afternoon.

24/7 Sports’ composite four-star Matt Elam (you know, the guy who rode in Nick Saban’s Mercedes) will decide between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday.

Josh Edwards of 24/7 Sports has the scoop.

Elizabethtown (Ky.) John Hardin defensive tackle Matt Elam announced via Twitter [@FballIsLife69] that he will announce his college decision at noon Thursday.

Elam will announce between Kentucky and Alabama. He took an official visit to Alabama the weekend of Jan. 17 and visited Kentucky Dec. 13. He also took an unofficial visit to Lexington Saturday.

Elam is considered to be the 13th best defensive tackle prospect, third best player in the state of Kentucky and the 164th best overall prospect in the class of 2014 (24/7 Sports themselves has listed Elam as a five-star prospect).

Elam was also interested in the Indiana Hoosiers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, among others.
