NBA Rumors: Kings, Suns open to trading draft pick

The Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns are two teams determined to improve come the NBA’s trade deadline and they’re willing to trade their 2014 first round draft pick to do so, this according to Basketball Insiders.

Steve Kyler was discussing potential trade scenarios (which included the Boston Celtics and Jeff Green/Brandon Bass) and dropped the subtle nugget towards the end of his blurb.

Phoenix and Sacramento have both said they’d move a pick to secure the right player… not sure Green or Bass fit that description.

The Suns do have a handful of first round picks (potentially up to three) and could possibly be entertained by trading their worst one (they currently own the Pacers 2014 first round pick) for Green or Bass, but that’s likely as much as they’d offer in regards to draft picks.

Sacramento meanwhile is sitting in the lottery though has improved with the addition of Rudy Gay. A decent second half of the season could move them from the front of the lottery towards the back end, making their pick less valuable.
