NBA Rumors: Steve Nash suffers back injury

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash has only played in six games this season due to injury.

Out for months dealing with a variety of ailments, Nash was hopeful to return to the Lakers this week. That may now be a long shot as the veteran tweaked his back during Lakers practice on Monday putting his immediate status in doubt.

DAntoni said Steve Nash did not practice Monday. Blake and Farmar were able to ramp things up. Meeks/Pau sat out

There’s no word on how significant Nash’s injury is currently, though any injury regarding Nash and his back is bad news. You’ll likely recall Nash sitting propped up along a baseline, elevating his often sore back.

At this point, you have to wonder how effective Nash will be once he does return. He’s obviously not the same player he was even a few short years ago and he struggles to remain on the floor for an entire game at this point.

We’ll update his status moving forward once the Lakers release more information.
