UFC President, Dana White, stopped by FOX Sports Live last night to discuss the UFC’s first PPV of 2014. UFC 169 is headlined by the Bantamweight title rematch between Urijah Faber and Renan Barao. The co-main event is the UFC Featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Ricardo Lamas.
Renan Barao, the newly minted undisputed UFC Bantamweight champion, is looking to beat Faber for a second time and earn his first title defense as the undisputed champ. Faber, who is coming off four victories in 2013, will have his third chance at UFC gold this Saturday night.
Jose Aldo has not lost a fight in 9 years. Under the Zuffa banner he is 13-0 including marquee victories over Chad Mendes, Urijah Faber, Kenny Florian, Frankie Edgar, and more. Ricardo Lamas is 4-0 in the UFC, including stoppage victories over Matt Grice, Cub Swanson, and Erik Koch.
Dana White broke down the fights, discussing both title fights and the Heavyweight battle between Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem. He also discussed Roy Nelson applying for the NSAC executive director position, the TUF Brazil 3 fight between Chael and Wanderlei, GSP’s recent drug testing comments, and much more.
