The Matrix was one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. The incredible fight scenes and storyline have made it a classic. Some of the greatest memes come from the Matrix and the philosophical character Morpheus.
There was a famous scene where he makes an offer to Keanu Reeves’ character Neo, a blue pill to stay in the world he knows and a red pill to expose the real world and open his eyes to reality.
Kia has released a new Super Bowl add starring Morpheus from The Matrix making a similar offer to a couple simply trying to retrieve their car from valet, which Morpheus is working. He offers them a blue key and red key in a spoof of that famous scene.
“Take the blue key, you go back to the luxury you know. Take the red key, and you’ll never look at luxury the same again.”
The couple takes the red key and is enjoying the Kia, and the commercial should’ve ended there. Morpheus ends up belting out the aria “Nessun dorma” and there are some explosions as they drive down the street. The opera doesn’t fit The Matrix comparison, but it is still a cool commercial.
