The Indiana Pacers may not trade forward Danny Granger at the NBA’s upcoming trade deadline, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have the opportunity.
According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports, Danny Granger is drawing heavy trade interest around the league – much of it due to his massive expiring contract.
Pacers forward Danny Granger, another impending free agent, is drawing lots of interest as the trade deadline approaches, league sources said.
Granger’s $14 million dollar concludes at season end which has teams salivating at the idea of clearing a massive chunk of cap space.
Unfortunately for them, the Pacers have their own set of problems to deal with – which includes attempting to re-sign impending free agent Lance Stephenson. Taking on salary beyond this season (which they’d likely be doing) would impede their ability to sign Stephenson considering the team has said they will not enter the luxury tax, so a Granger trade seems questionable at best.
Still – it sounds as if teams will try to tempt them before the February deadline.
Amico did not mention any interested teams by name.
