Tuesday morning, there was the somewhat shocking announcement that members of the Northwestern Wildcats football team had filed the official paperwork to be recognized as members of a union. Ultimately, this would lead to college athletes officially being seen as paid employees.

There is a lot of risk involved in this, and this has the potential to be one of the more unprecedented outcomes in the history of sports, should they be successful.

To be successful in this, they are going to need all of their bases covered, and that means they’re going to have to be extra cautious when speaking about his to the public.

According to Inside Northwestern, the players already have that particular base covered as they have chosen QB/Athlete Kain Colter to be the spokesman for this movement.

As with most that attend Northwestern, Colter is a very bright young man and he’s also the most popular, well-known player on the roster.
