Three-star wide receiver Shay Fields committed to a different school for the third time on Monday.
Tom Kensler of The Denver Post has the story.
Second-year coach Mike MacIntyre and his Colorado football program received their first oral commitment from a four-star prospect during the current recruiting cycle Tuesday when wide receiver Shay Fields of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco picked CU over California and Southern California, according to Rivals.com.
Fields, 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, caught 82 passes for 1,617 yards and 17 touchdowns last fall as a senior in helping St. John Bosco win the California state championship.
Fields originally committed to the Boise State Broncos back in June. After getting an offer from the Southern Cal Trojans in October, Field decommitted from Boise State and made his pledge to the Trojans. Fields officially visited USC, Colorado and most recently, the California Golden Bears and was clearly the most comfortable in Boulder.
Fields is the 82nd best wide receiver and 55st best player in the state of California, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
