On Tuesday, 3-star tight end Chase Blakley committed to the Boise State Broncos.
Blakley was has been committed to the Washington Huskies since back in May, but after head coach Steve Sarkisian left for the USC Trojans, Blakley started to rethink things.
Justin Hopkins of 24/7 Sports has the scoop.
Blakley is also expected to take his official visit to Boise State this weekend.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound prep is one of the elite pass-catchers as a tight end out West and will push for immediate playing time. Blakley was very adamant about remaining with Washington but behind the scenes the staff continued to put in work.
Blakley attends Coeur d’Alene High School in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and decided to join Huskies’ head coach Chris Peterson’s former squad rather than sticking with his new school.
Blakley was especially impressed with new Boise State head man Bryan Harsin.
“They’re awesome guys there,” Blakley said about the Boise State coaching staff via John Wustrow of the Idaho Press. “I definitely think we’re going to be doing big things there in the next couple years.”
