American Horror Story: Coven Season Finale ‘The Seven Wonders’ Preview (Video)

Tonight, everything that we have been building towards the entire season is going to come to a boiling head. We will bear witness to the season finale of the hit FX Original Series American Horror Story: Coven. What can we expect from tonight’s final episode? Let’s discuss.

Obviously, the biggest question on the top of everyone’s mind is ‘Who is the next Supreme?’

With Fiona’s untimely departure in last week’s episode, Cordelia declared that every member of the Coven would perform the Seven Wonders, and on Sunday (their time of course) a new Supreme would reign.

Now, before we get into speculating who the new Supreme is, let’s contemplate something even more perplexing. Is Fiona even really dead? As you remember from Cordelia’s vision, she saw each member of the Coven dead on the floor with Fiona standing over them alive and well. For the most part, Cordelia’s visions have not been wrong. Could the Axeman murdering Fiona had been nothing more than an elaborate ruse in order to tick Cordelia’s visions, or has the reigning Supreme really and truly passed on into the next life?

Ok, so…on to the next Supreme. There are so many possibilities here. Throughout the course of the season, each of the witches of Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies has been developing new powers, but whose are the strongest?

Madison seems to think that she is a sure thing for the Supremacy. However, I have my doubts about this. Whil she has certainly developed a lot of new powers throughout the course of the season, at the end of the day, she did die; something that is not supposed to happen to the new Supreme. While the afterlife did seem to fix her heart murmur, I still don’t quite believe that she is next in line to rule.

Another good possibility is the young Misty Day. I mean, until the recent round of revelations, she did have the most powerful magic of all the witches in the Coven. She even brought herself, along with countless others, back to life. However, we have not seen much of an evolution, or increase in her abilities since joining the Coven. While she is still a very strong candidate, I am not sold on the fact that she is the new Supreme.

To be honest with you, I would put my money on one of two witches. The two witches that I see most likely to become the next Supreme are Zoe and Myrtle. Now, why Myrtle you may ask? Well, when Fiona was first granted the role of Supreme, I really feel like the job was intended for Myrtle; however, due to her master skills at manipulation, Fiona was able to convince the council that she was the witch for the job. Is it possible that karma is finally about to correct itself?

Now, as far as Zoe is concerned, from what one can tell, she has been the center point of the show from the very beginning. Not only have numerous storylines surrounded her, but she also forfeited her happiness with Kyle in order to come back to New Orleans and fight for what she believes in, the safety of her Coven. Also, throughout the course of the series, she has developed many new powers that she is slowly, but surely learning how to master. From what one can tell, her main goal is to protect the Coven, something that should be the focus of any good Supreme.

Here is a preview of what we can look forward to in tonight’s epic Season Finale of American Horror Story: Coven.

There is a good possibility that I am entirely off base; however, it is entirely possibly that I have somehow hit the nail on the head. The more important question here is, what do you think?

Do you think Fiona is really gone, or is she sitting back and waiting for the Seven Wonders to reveal the identity of the new Supreme so she can do away with her? Furthermore, who do you think the next Supreme really is? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

American Horror Story: Coven airs on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. on FX.
