American Horror Story: Coven – Who Will Complete the Seven Wonders? (Video)

Tonight, no matter what happens, everything will reach the end of the line, and a new Supreme will rise. The biggest question on the top of everyone’s minds right now is “Who will it be?”

Because Fiona did not name her successor prior to her untimely passing at the hands of the Axeman, Cordelia has decreed that each member of the Coven will participate in the Seven Wonders. The Seven Wonders is a series of seven tests that have been used by witches of the Coven for centuries in order to determine which of them possessed the true power to lead the Coven.

Those seven tests are Telekinesis, Divination, Transmutation, Pyrokinesis, Concilium, Descensum and Vitalum Vitalia. We know that all of the young witches possess the first of those powers; however, what about the rest of them.

Madison has always believed that she is the next in line to succeed Fiona. That is, after all, why Fiona slit her throat. Her powers have increased since returning from the afterlife; however, the fact that she went there in the first place makes me doubt her role as the Supreme. That and, do we really need another Supreme like Fiona?

Queenie has the confidence to assume the role, and she definitely has some unique powers; however, I am not sure that she is the one to lead the Coven. As soon as she found her opportunity, she bailed on the Coven faster than the speed of light. It seemed to me like the only reason she returned is because her “new family” was wiped out by the Witch Hunters. Desperation makes us do stupid things.

This brings me to Zoe. She has been the odds on favorite for the job since the very beginning. The shows has followed her story since the very first episode. She has always been that sort of “new kid on the block” where she didn’t exactly fit in, even though she truly has all along. She is one of the few of the girls at the Academy that actually care more about the protection of the Coven than the thirst for power. I think she would make a fine Supreme; however, I am not 100% sold on this one yet.

Misty is another one who seems like a very likely candidate. Now, she was not always a member of the Coven. In fact, she found herself burned at the stake and newly resurrected before she ever found her way to Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies. She did have the strongest powers when the search for the new Supreme began, but since then we have not seen a real maturation of her powers. While everyone else has seemingly gotten stronger, she has almost stayed where she was in the beginning, which is still further than some of the other girls, but you get my point.

Now that we have taken a look at each of the girls separately, let’s take a look at two interesting possibilities that no one has really touched on yet.

Is Fiona really dead? Now, as you know if you saw the last episode, Fiona’s term as Supreme was cut short by the Axeman’s axe; or was it? In Cordelia’s vision, she saw everyone in the Coven lying dead on the floor, or sprawled out on the stairs. The only one left standing amongst all the carnage was Fiona. Could Fiona’s passing have been an elaborate ruse in order to be able to sit back and watch as the new Supreme was crowned just so that she can end their life?

Also, has anyone considered the fact that maybe no one is capable of completing the Seven Wonders? There has been an inordinate amount of backstabbing and betrayals in the Coven. Could it be that the next Supreme has yet to be born, and that some of the people who have been relieved of their mortality may have been destined to bear the next Supreme and yet never got the chance to?

If the latter comes to pass, the Coven would be wiped out forever and the line of Salem dead for all eternity. Somehow I think Spalding would have one heck of a problem with this.

While you think all of this over, here is a look at “Inside the Coven: Choosing the Next Supreme.”

Taking everything you know, and everything you think you know, into consideration, who do you think will be the reigning Supreme when it is all said in done. Furthermore, will there even be a Coven to reign over? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
