The NBA Draft is this summer and already prospects are starting to separate themselves from the pack. We won’t know who is getting the top pick until later this year but we are starting to get an idea of what players will be discussed. From Jabari Parker to Joel Embiid and now Australian phenomenon Dante Exum, the prospects are starting to rise on draft boards.
According to ESPN insider Chad Ford, one player not rising on draft boards is Kentucky forward Julius Randle. Ford writes that the big man is no longer considered a No. 1 pick in the draft but is still considered to be a top five talent by team.
Ford cites Randle’s poor game against the LSU Tigers as one of the reasons teams are starting to jump off his bandwagon and drop him out of the top slots in the draft. This isn’t to say he’s going to free fall in the lottery, but Shabazz Muhammad was considered a top pick last year in the winter and almost fell out of the lottery in the summer.
