The Cleveland Cavaliers went out and made a big trade to land Luol Deng from the Chicago Bulls, but since then they haven’t really been popping the way fans would have liked. Many have begun to point to not the underperforming talent on the roster, but to head coach Mike Brown.
There are rumblings that Brown has lost the locker room in Cleveland, but star point guard Kyrie Irving isn’t buying into that notion.
Per the Akron Beacon Journal:
Asked if Brown has lost the team, Irving said “Not at all. Anything he needs me to do, I’m willing to do and I know my teammates are willing to do as well.”
This is just one voice from the locker room and based on the team consistently ignoring Brown’s messages about improving, it appears that Irving is in the minority when it comes to his views of Brown’s power over the Cavs.
If Cleveland falls off and drops in the Eastern Conference standings, the likelihood that Brown will be fired increases significantly.
