Coming into the season, the Phoenix Suns were expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA – some even had them pegged as having the worst roster in the league.

But the Suns have shocked everybody – maybe even themselves as they currently sit in a race for a postseason birth come the NBA’s mid-way point. So what’s the plan moving forward? To be active at the upcoming trade deadline. That’s the word from Basketball Insider’s Alex Kennedy who says the Suns will ‘definitely’ be looking to be buyers during the next few weeks.

The Suns are definitely looking to be buyers at the deadline. Their picks and the Emeka Okafor contract, which they intend to trade, means that they have to be considered when talking about some of the top players who could be moved at the deadline.

Kennedy notes the Suns say are looking for an All-Star talent, but it’s not known if such will be made available or if Phoenix would make a good trade partner for that team.

Regardless, it sounds as if the Suns are going to be hitting the phones hard.
