The Washington Wizards defeated the Golden State Warriors 88-85 at ORACLE Arena in Oakland, CA. The Wizards improved to 22-22, and the Warriors fells to 27-19.
Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 20 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in a well fought game.
The Warriors took a 79-77 lead after Klay Thompson hit a three with 6:37 to go. However, Washington power forward Nene Hilario hit two free throws at 6:01 to give the Wizards a two-point lead. Washington held onto the lead for the rest of the game.
Stephen Curry had an opportunity to tie the game in the final seconds, but his desperation three failed to go down.
Washington top performers: Bradley Beal see above. Nene Hilario scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. John Wall netted 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Martell Webster finished with 10 points and two assists.
Golden State top performers: Stephen Curry scored 23 points along with four assists and four steals. Klay Thompson netted 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists. David Lee finished with 11 points and five rebounds.
