Just in case you didn’t get your fill of mutant goodness yesterday with Empire Magazine’s 25 brand spanking new covers featuring the many faces of X-Men: Days of Future Past, there is still more to be had! Earlier today, Empire Magazine released another four images from the upcoming film.

Just in case you have been living under a superhuman sized rock and have not yet heard about the film, here is the official synopsis of the film courtesy of IMDb.com.

“The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.”

In the first of the four new stills, we see Wolverine. As you can tell from the picture, our favorite foul-tempered mutant is sporting bone claws. This would indicate that this is the 70’s version of the character. (Just in case the décor didn’t give it away.)

Next up, we see Magneto floating high in the air. Who only knows who it is that he is about to lay the smackdown on, but we do know one thing for sure…when you upset Magneto, you should probably make sure that there is nothing metallic around that he can manipulate to beat you down with. (Or even yank out of your body.)

Now, we get a look at a group of the younger X-Men. We see Sunspot, Kitty Pryde,  Iceman, and Colossus. From the looks of it, they are about to embark on something pretty intense. It would seem that they are outside some temple in what is to become the post-apocalyptic future.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a young, and seemingly pretty upset Mystique. She has her gun trained on someone, who we cannot see in the picture. Who do you think Mystique has her sights set on?

As you already know, X-Men: Days of Future Past combines the mutants that we all know from the original X-Men films with their much younger versions from X-Men: First Class.

The film stars Hugh Jackman, who is reprising his role as Wolverine. The film also stars Ian McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Michael Fassbender as the younger Magneto, American Horror Story’s Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Ellen Page as Shadowcat, Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask, James McAvoy as the younger Charles Xavier, Halle Berry as Storm, and many more.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to be released on May 23, 2014.

Ya! I love how X- men is stepping up its game, dark and hopeless future just like our reality, only we don’t have the benefit of having super awesome powers. If that were the case mutants would’ve taken over the world long ago, that kind of power would be too special to ignore.
