The biggest college basketball game of the day on Thursday is the match up in the American Athletic Conference between the 12th-ranked Louisville Cardinals and the 13th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats. Just a few hours before game time, the Bearcats got some good news about their starting center, Justin Jackson.
Jackson will indeed start on Thursday night when the Bearcats walk into the KFC Yum! Center to try and pull off the upset and remain unbeaten in the conference.
Jackson rolled his ankle in Sunday’s win over the Temple Owls on Sunday, and he only played about six minutes the entire game. There were concerns throughout most of this week that Jackson would be unable to take the floor and anchor the defense like he has all season, but those concerns can now be put to rest.
With the streaks that this Louisville offense can go one during the course of a game, having Jackson on the floor to stop them is crucial to the Bearcats ultimately proving that they’re the best team in the AAC when it’s all said and done.
