We’ve seen the outdoor hockey game move from northern parts of the country like New York City and Michigan to Los Angeles. If they could pull it off in Los Angeles they could pull it off just about anywhere right? Well now the Dallas Stars are considering trying to host a game at the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium.

From ESPN Dallas:

"The Dallas Stars have had internal discussions about playing an outdoor game under the retractable roof at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, but Stars president and CEO Jim Lites said he has not yet talked with stadium officials about whether there’s a way to make it happen. He hopes to do that in the next few months.“The league is interested and after seeing how well things went in Los Angeles, we could certainly do it here,” Lites said. “But we’re not talking next year. Maybe 2015-16 or 2016-17 makes more sense.”"

The Cowboys having a retractable roof would allow this to work whether it was warm or cold. Aside from the roof, Cowboys stadium has huge doors at both end zones (seen above) that can be opened to further invite cold air in to cool the ice. Of course thats if it is a cold day, it could also be 70 degrees in winter.
