The NBA is moving on from one of it’s most legendary figures. David Stern was polarizing while he was the commissioner of the NBA, but love him or hate him, you have to admit that things got done with him in office and the game was changed significantly.
From television rights, to changes to the draft and even the merchandizing of the game, Stern came in and made sure the game of basketball became a legitimate business, and the league is going to miss him whether fans want to admit it or not.
Now that Stern is about to have some free time on his hands, he’s starting to make the rounds on his farewell tour and that led him to Letterman on Wednesday night. Stern dropped by for an appearance on the show to read out David Letterman’s signature Top 10 list.
For Stern, it was the Top 10 things he’d learned while being the NBA commissioner.
Let’s just say he’s not going to be winning over any more fans with his dry comedic delivery. Still, Stern will be missed more than people want to admit it, as he’s left the NBA in a good place and a far better one than he found it in.
