Andrew Wiggins came into the 2013-14 college basketball season as one of the more hyped players in quite some time, drawing comparisons to LeBron James since his high school days. Has he been setting the world on fire like everyone expected? No, not exactly, but he’s definitely beginning to show flashes that he very well could as we head toward March.
In the win over the Iowa State Cyclones on Wednesday night, Wiggins put the team on his back and score six of his 29 points in the most crucial part of the game. He hit four threes and he finished the night 10-of-16 from the field, and performances like these are starting to come because, as Wiggins says, he’s starting to settle in.
“I’m just starting to feel more comfortable,” Wiggins said.
It helps that Wiggins is surrounded by such talent as Perry Ellis and Joel Embiid, but if this team wants to make a serious run at a national championship, Wiggins needs to keep progressing like he has.
The more comfortable he gets, the more dangerous this team will get.
