You may not know Ricardo Lamas, but the featherweight number one contender has a wise head on his shoulders when it comes to the martial arts. He’s a well-rounded student of the game. A grappler who became a solid, heavy-hitting striker and is comfortable anywhere in the Octagon. That’s why we got his two cents on some of his fellow fights on this weekend’s Super Bowl UFC extravaganza, UFC 169.

Lams first broke down the bantamweight title fight that he may watch as the new featherweight champion, or as a loser with a likely bruised leg.

Faber continues to impress me. The guy doesn’t stop improving and every time he loses he works his way back to the title shot and just keeps improving and keeps beating fighters. He’s been doing a great job. Barao is an animal and he just doesn’t stop. If I had to choose, I would have to go with Barao but I wouldn’t be surprised if Faber pulled it off.

And bluntly breaks down Overeem/Mir:

Man. If Mir takes it to the ground I think he can submit Overeem very easily.
