5-star Travis Rudolph isn't taking another visit, will sign with Florida State

Everything surrounding 5-star wide receiver Travis Rudolph’s recruitment has been dramatic, except for his own comments, of course.

Rudolph told reporters that he was sticking with Florida State after Florida Gators’ head coach Will Muschamp did an in-home visit and attended his basketball game on Wednesday.

However, Rudolph’s parents told Rudolph to sleep on visit with Muschamp and his father told reporters he wasn’t sure where Rudolph would go.

On Friday, Rudolph again assured reporters he would not be taking any more visits and his decision was final.

The 6’1, 185-pound Rudolph, who attends Cardinal Newman High School in Palm Beach, Florida, is one of the class of 2014’s elite wide receivers. 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings rank him as the sixth-best receiver prospect while 24/7 Sprots’ themselves rank him as the #2 receiver prospect.

Rudolph may join fellow 5-star wide receiver Ermon Lane, a few Florida State commits, quarterback J.J. Consentino, center Alec Eberle, offensive tackle Ethan Firth, defensive back Malique Jackson, defensive tackle Frederick Jones, defensive end Rick Leonard, defensive lineman Adam Torres and defensive lineman Dexter Wideman, plus uncommitted athlete Myles Autry on a visit to Tallahassee for the Seminoles’ national title celebration this weekend.
