College Football Recruiting: David Njoku commits to Miami Hurricanes

Three-star athlete David Njoku (Cedar Grove, NJ. Cedar Grove) committed to the Miami Hurricanes today giving Al Golden and staff their 26th commitment so far for the class of 2014 with only a few days before national signing day on Feb. 5.

Njoku is a “jumbo athlete” who played wide receiver, tight end and even took some handoffs during his senior year of high school when he caught 40 passes for 981 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushed for 334 yards and six touchdowns.

The 6-4, 220-pound Njoku will begin his career as a wide receiver but he has a frame to add 25-30 pounds and could ultimately develop into a tight end flexed away from the line.

Njoku is the No. 838 recruit overall according to the 247Sports composite rankings, No. 64 athlete and No. 23 recruit in the Garden State. With the addition of Njoku, the ‘Canes now own the No. 11 ranked class overall and the No. 2 class in the ACC, behind only the national champion Florida State Seminoles.
