Jon Fitch to face winner of Carl vs. Palhares for WSOF title

World Series of Fighting recently announced that Steve Carl and Rousimar Palhares would be facing off on March 29 at WSOF 9 in Paradise, Nevada. The fight will be for the WSOF welterweight title, and the next challenger has already been decided.

According to WSOF executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz, UFC veteran Jon Fitch will be the next to get a title shot.

“The winner will be fighting Jon Fitch,” Abdel-Aziz told MMAFighting.com. “He has the next title shot. Jon Fitch is a professional, Jon Fitch will fight anybody. I respect him a lot. It’s up to him, but I talked to his manager and he’s all for it, he’ll fight the winner.”

If Palhares is able to come away with the win and 170-pound belt, a bout between Palhares and Fitch would be one of the biggest fights that World Series of Fighting has ever promoted.
