Blake Baratz, the agent for Jermichael Finley said back in November, the tight end has every intention of suiting up and taking the field again.

Today he took a big step in that direction as it’s expected he will be medically cleared for contact in 3-4 weeks.

Per Pro Football Talk:

"Jermichael Finley (neck surgery) just told me his doctor is 99.9 percent certain Finley will be cleared for contact in the next 3-4 weeks."

Finley of course was injured earlier this season and many thought initially he wouldn’t be able to play again. Some also suggested that he wouldn’t want to (understandable given the injury). But Finley,  a free agent, looks ready to make a return to the gridiron moving forward.

He’ll have some competition at the tight end spot in free agency given both Dennis Pitta and Jimmy Graham are also on the market, though Graham will likely be franchised (against his wishes).

Good to hear the former Green Bay Packers tight end is coming around and this story will have a happy ending.
