WrestleMania Weekend has to be the busiest week for the WWE. They have press conferences, other media events, WrestleMania Axxess, the Hall of Fame, then the biggest event of that weekend. You guessed it, WrestleMania.
Now with CM Punk throwing a wrench in their plans for the event, they’re going to have to re-write a couple things. This isn’t the first time they’ve had to deal with something like this, but I’m sure they didn’t expect Punk to walk away from the company like he did.
It could be a work by Punk, but right now it appears to be the real deal. So with WrestleMania Axxess opening up WrestleMania weekend, the company had to scramble to find someone who will step in for Punk since he’s “no longer” with the company.
He’s under contract until July, but since he left earlier in the week, he’s been removed from everything the WWE had him scheduled for. Sheamus has even stepped up during live events and taking on The Shield. It was supposed to be Punk taking on all three members.
So when it comes to who will replace it, they found one of the biggest names in professional wrestling history. According to NoDQ.com, the WWE will have the 16 time World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair taking CM Punk’s place during the event.
Flair will be apart of the VIP Autograph session.
