We are just under two weeks away from the release of the upcoming reboot of the RoboCop franchise. Over the course of the last month, we have seen a lot of various clips from the film, posters, and more. Earlier today, Sony Pictures released what could be the most action-packed trailer for the film to date.
Here is the synopsis for the upcoming film RoboCop courtesy of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.”
As I said, in the trailer, we get to see a lot of the action sequences from the upcoming film; which actually look pretty well orchestrated. We will also get to see him face off with not only Mattox, who is played in the film by Watchmen’s Jackie Earle Haley, but Raymond Sellars, the “evil” head of OmniCorp who is played in the film by Michael Keaton.
Here is a look at the new trailer for the upcoming film RoboCop entitled “Crime.”
RoboCop is scheduled to be released in IMAX and Conventional Theaters on February 12, 2014.
