Defensive tackle Trenton Thompson may be the country’s most sought-after recruit in the class 0f 2015.
According to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings, Thompson is the country’s top defensive tackle and the third best overall prospect in the class of 2015. Rivals.com ranks Thompson as the top overall player and he is considered a 5-star prospect by nearly every major recruiting outlet.
The 6’4, 292-pound Thompson attends Westover High School in Albany, Georgia. The Georgia Bulldogs appear to be the favorite with the Florida State Seminoles running close behind. The Michigan State Spartans, Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers are heavily in the mix.
The Seminoles were thought to take a step back after defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt left for the same job at Georgia, but Thompson is going to visit the Seminoles this weekend, according to Jake Rowe of Rivals.com.
Thompson, along with several other prospects, including an impressive list of 2014 official visitors, will watch the Seminoles celebrate their national championship when they hold their celebration at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
This will mark Thompson’s third trip to Tallahassee since October.
